FEHU
Fehu — The Energy of Wealth and Resources
Today I would like to begin a small series about the runes through my paintings.
The first one is Fehu — the first rune of the Elder Futhark.
At first glance, this symbol seems very simple: just a few lines, like paths extending from a single point.
Yet it is this rune that opens the path of the Elder Futhark.
Fehu is associated with wealth, material resources, opportunities, and the ability to make wise use of what we already have.
And this is exactly how I like to view it: wealth is not only about money.
It is our abilities, knowledge, energy, time, relationships, ideas, and the opportunity to create something new from what we already possess.
When I painted this artwork, I wanted to convey a sense of movement and growth. That is why I used the colors of the Earth element, adding gold, yellow, and white, and allowing the palette knife to move freely across the canvas.
For me, runes are not merely ancient signs. They are a language of symbols through which we can gain a new perspective on ourselves and the events unfolding in our lives.
That is why I created the "Rune Deck for Every Day" — a collection of 25 cards featuring the runes of the Elder Futhark and Odin’s Blank Rune.
And for those who wish not only to draw a daily card but also to explore the rune system more deeply, I created the book "Rune Deck for Every Day."
???? The deck and ???? the book are available in my Aleskere Art shop.
And now a question for you:
What does true wealth mean to you today?
