RUNIC PAINTING

RUNIC PAINTING

Runic Painting is a distinct direction within my artistic practice, where ancient symbols meet the language of contemporary painting.

I leave space in my work for abstraction and landscapes as well, because painting has always been a free way for me to feel and explore the world. Yet Runic Painting has become a particularly meaningful part of my artistic practice — a way to speak about what cannot always be expressed through words alone.

For me, a rune is not simply a sign.

It is a symbol carrying layers of ancient knowledge, meaning and imagery. I explore it through colour, form, the movement of the brush, texture and pictorial space, translating the depth of the symbol into the language of painting.

This is where my principle emerges:

THOUGHT → FORM

Every person carries desires, dreams, intentions and inner questions. Yet it is not always easy to see a desire clearly or to understand what form we want to give it.

The runic tradition offers a way to give thought a symbolic form.

When creating runic formulas, I bring several symbols together into a single artistic composition, allowing an intention to take visual form.

A bridge emerges between the unseen and the visible:

between thought and form,
between intention and symbol,
between feeling and colour,
between an inner question and a work of art.

For me, creating a runic painting is not simply about depicting a rune. It is a process of engaging with its meaning and energy, searching for balance between colour, form, symbol and inner state.

I believe that art can create a space for contemplation.

A painting can be seen not only with the eyes — it can be felt.

We can return to it, contemplate its symbol, colour and movement of forms, reconnect with our intention, and find within this process a sense of harmony and balance.

That is why I see my runic paintings both as works of art and as contemporary symbolic artefacts — visual forms through which ancient knowledge can find a new expression.

Symbol. Colour. Form. Energy. Intention.

From their union emerges my Runic Painting — an art that gives thought a form.
